2017, the mark of the previous years…

Featured2017, the mark of the previous years…

all those things were echoes of deep feelings, those sweet moments, those glittering eyes, those drumming heartbeats, those tumults troubling gazes, conversations to the early morning which mostly didn’t make sense, those inescapable fun, those heartbreaking moments, worries we related, all those amazing quarrels, teasing, feasting, making up, all those things….are now mere memories….

what have been gone, will never return, how true was Heraclitus….

“we can never touch the same water of the river, twice”

and all we have wherever it is, is accumulated to what we are now, our entire being and entire history as a person, as an entity of existence…is define to what we are now, at this very moment, at this present time, this is the static reality of a human being said Parmenides. To this space and time where and when i’m typing, at this very breath is all i am. When i’m gone then all of me is gone. so wherever i go, i bring my reality with me for that is my existence.

funny to be able to see it that way…but that is the realities of two great thinkers, who walked this earth thous of years ago. Two edges of the pendulum.

i have to come back to that thoughts to summarize those great years as memories… those great moments that we can never have again in complete image because as we know: memories, fade away and some fractions were left off.

One thing i learn, i don’t need help in remembering, but i need help to remind me to enjoy and cherish every moment i spend with other human being, with my friends, my families, with my not so closed friends, with those unknown i happen to collide in my daily life, the clandestine lovers that marked by drumming heartbeats, with those people i used to quarrel with, with those people precious or not…they mark the greatness of living in this world created by An Awesome Creator, HE that not only created it but also sustain it.

So to Him again i say, God, all is well with me…can’t wait to encounter greater chances, destinies and realities in the dimension of this time and space, that people named 2018 when in actuality time has no name, i think he is anonymous *tisk tisk* some great lover just like me, got stranded in this finite universe with infinite peripheral line of vision.

so thanks thanks thanks, i’m so grateful because the enlightenment is like a door that just open ajar to embrace something old and new, for more to come….

i hope i can see you again like i used to, with drumming heartbeats, glittering eyes, shots of endorphin that make stars in your eyes… in so many ways!

Have a Blessed 2020

2019 has gone by, that’s with linier perspective of timeline. One single second that has gone by, will never return. There is a beginning and there is an end. May the year 2020 brings only goodness for you and for me. No matter how difficult life can be, we are in good-hand. Eben Haezer, until this far God has been with us, of course He will be with us till the end. Blessings.

So Much Has Happened

Since I last wrote on this platform which is like 7 months ago so much has happened. Also, since about one year ago so much has changed.

I haven’t got the time to write, but oh so many stories to tell.

In my personal life 2017 was actually great. In March, I got a new position, as head of department which handling public relations, promotion, and organizational development sort of. A responsibility I embraced with arms open wide but they take my time and energy so much so that the only thing I wanna do after work is jump into the bed and forget everything.

However life with “my hang-out friends” are also demanding since several of them got lucky with business and I often go out with them after works for fun and going back home at ungodly hours. At first only during weekends later even weekdays. Goodness how they work hard and spend money like crazy.

In May, 2017 I moved to a new place, a two bedroom apartment still in Central Jakarta/ Jakarta Pusat. Things changed slowly, driving me away from my crazy friends. Also all of seven eleven outlets in Indonesia were closed, due to mismanagement. So my friends moved back to their original meeting place which is Atrium, Senen; farther away from my place, the reason I seldom meet them unless we set appointments, so we don’t meet often. A friend from the gang, taught me about Batu Akik, he is a collector of Batu Akik (gemstones) specifically Batu Bacan (chrysocolla chalcedony/gem silica). It is a rock from the island of Bacan in Maluku area.

It is only one of so many types of Chrysocolla chalcedony. I have collected several, and hopefully would share about them one of these days.

A wonderful 2016… personal milestone

A wonderful 2016… personal milestone

An awesome 2016, a year full of wonders, challenges and opportunities, almost like magic! I lived out of my box, got my style, made my choices, worked them well with no regrets. I found most lights fake, they hurt my eyes. I visited darkness and it taught me boldness. Now 2016 is fading away and again there’s only me and God and He is very very strong…

Rooftop Cafe: The Cloud

We are still in the Jakpus area. Christmas service ended at 11PM, Ricky and I decided to hang out to catch up instead of having dinner. several choices in Jakpus area that opened 24hr were targetted. Rooftop cafes are nice but during holidays with no reservation it is a battle more or less. We decided to hit the Cloud so we head that way.

Sweets, it was a battle that we fought and won haaaa. crowded? yes. no empty seats, fully reserved?dont ask. almost impossible to take photos? but it was a winning battle that took a lil patience. we got a space at the bar with only one available bar seat so Ricky had to stand for awhile.

We enjoyed the cold and windy atmosphere that night to early morning. we were lucky sitting at the bar with real fire to warm us. a bottle of bintang pilsener and huge awesome nachos that we ate endlessly.

We had Christmas celebration with jingle bells and reindeers hairbands, a DJ whose birthday on the 25th of Dec, awesome disco music and lights, expensive drinks and enjoyable windy night with no rain, a spectacular Jakarta from a 64th floor rooftop at midnight to early morning.

It was still packed when we left but such an awesome once in a lifetime adventure with best friend. what else could i ask. very merry Christmas Night.

Christmas Night @GPIB Paulus, Menteng!

Christmas Night @GPIB Paulus, Menteng!

I planned to attend 7PM Christmas Service at my church but i got late. And sweets, getting late during christmas @my church means additional unnecessary stress with no seats, crowded aisles, simply no room to manuver the body without bumping anyone. especially when candlelight service is on. scary thing could happen  and believe me it wouldnt like that we attend a church service at all. but members knew that so during peak services we must come earlier…

My situation forced me to change time, i decided to attend 9-11 PM service instead so i got lucky and chose a nice and comfortable seating… and loooo i saw my friend Ricky Tewuh an aisle away, two rows behind. Haaaa i thought…that’s my companion for an adventure for the night. wherever the whim may take us.

Next i will tell you about our adventure where the whim take us…. for now i wish you Merry Christmas 2016, like those magis who went on a long journey to find Christ based on their knowledge and wisdom, they found faith in Jesus at the end of the journey. i wish you the same meeting Jesus at the end of the road. blessings to you

Jaya Pub

Okay since my last post about my friends and I, and our passion for Jakarta Pusat, alot has happened. We’ve been to several places, have fun, experienced discords, fights, betrayals and made ups.

Our love for cafes for hang out and konkow in the area intensified. We tried several but this time i will tell about Jaya Pub, in Gedung Jaya – Thamrin. We’ve been frequented this pub recently and love it so much. Mostly becuz of the ambience of an old style pub lingers on and the live music is very cool. the food is great, price is reasonable and as always….beers…we simply love this place.

We are regulers at Jaya Pub now. we love nasi goreng special, pork chops, etc. As for beers, welove bintang.

Quote by C. S. Lewis

To live his life in his own way, to call his house his castle, to enjoy the fruits of his own labour, to educate his children as his conscience directs, to save for their prosperity after his death — these are wishes deeply ingrained in civilised man. … From their total frustration disastrous results both moral and psychological might follow. (C. S. Lewis)
